About this Book
Ancient waystones are turning towards roads nobody in the Twin Valleys has followed for generations. Amara and her friends leave home to discover why, following forgotten paths into a wider Koruma filled with unfamiliar communities and traditions thought lost to time. As old roads begin to reconnect, Amara discovers that what was forgotten may never have been truly lost and that keeping people connected requires more than simply remembering the way.
Amara thought she was beginning to understand Koruma. Then ancient Storykeeper waystones in the Twin Valleys begin turning towards a road nobody has followed for generations. Faced with a mystery that stretches beyond everything she knows, Amara joins Kito, Sewa, Tarek and the Storykeeper Lumo on a journey beyond the eastern ridge. The forgotten road leads them into a wider Koruma where traces of the old connections still survive. Storykeeper Houses continue to welcome travellers, ancient bridges and wells remain useful to those who understand them, and distant communities preserve songs, knowledge and traditions that others believe have disappeared. Each discovery suggests that the forgotten paths were once part of something far greater. Their journey takes another turn with the discovery of Abeni, a Path Keeper whose tradition Lumo believed had vanished. Abeni still walks the old routes, maintaining what she can and leaving signs for those who come behind her. Her knowledge raises a larger question: if the old paths have survived in different places, why are travellers from distant communities now being drawn towards the same unknown destination? As different roads begin to converge, Amara discovers that finding a forgotten path is only the beginning. Understanding why people stopped walking it, and what it might mean for Koruma if those connections are restored, will require her to listen not only to the stories that survived, but also to the gaps between them. The Forgotten Paths expands Amara's world beyond the Twin Valleys into a Koruma shaped by journeys, memory and the connections between communities. The further she travels, the clearer it becomes that no single person carries the whole story, and some paths may have been waiting generations to be walked again.
